Pore size control of mesoporous molecular sieve, MCM-41, is reviewed. The pore size increases with increasing the carbon number of n-alkyl group in template surfactant, by the addition of organic auxiliary chemicals, such as mesitylene, and by the hydrothermal post-treatment at higher temperatures. Moreover, the fine control of pore size by using the mixed surfactant with various ratios is describe.
